epic car dances

Wow, not sure if you heard or not but there is an epic battle of car dancing happening amongst collegiate sports teams. You know, these teammates are trapped in 15-passenger vans drive to and fro for seasonal games. It all started with this car fun by the Harvard Baseball Team:

Then all the parodies begin including the Texasssss State baseball team with bagels and the LSU Tiger girls. The madness continues and now these teams are getting creative. Then the stupid Today Show did a competition with the teams doing it NYC. For more on this check below

ANNNNNNDDDD Leno got on that and did one with the big BO and Mr. R which is pretty funny:

Now I've got that stupid Call Me Maybe song running now-stop in my head. Damn you funny youtube videos:

worse pants ever

I'm not the most fashionable person ever. I'll admit it freely. However I do occasionally bedazzle the girls, put a little shadow on, or wear a hot pair of sex boots. With this disclaimer, I sure do have some pretty strong feelings about what is fashion and what is it complete shit.

Recently I ran across a pair of the worse pants ever. These are worse than the sperm pants, or the nude colored tights/pants. These are jeans and they are $100 of your hard earned money:

Wow, what the bloody hell is that?!?! The 20 inch zipper is amazing. I am alllll about inch measurement in it's different forms, but this is just ridiculous. We got a little jean zipper MC Hammer action happening here (more on hammer pants here).

And these are truly woman's jeans. However, I think these might be more appropriate for male cross dresser. I mean they do go nicely with a pair of heels AND there is plenty of room to hide your pleen. These aren't your Texasss cowboy tight, junk hugging jeans. We got plenty of room here. I would suggest, however, that you glam them up with a belt of some kind!

I think these would go nicely with some nice hand knitted boxers.

a 21 footer

This week a small town in the Philippines can finally sleep sound. Why you ask? Well they just caught a GIGANTIC 21 foot long crocodile:

In this photo taken Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, Mayor Cox Elorde of Bunawan township, Agusan del Sur Province, pretends to measure a huge crocodile which was captured by residents and crocodile farm staff along a creek in Bunawan late Saturday in southern Philippines. Elorde said Monday that dozens of villagers and experts ensnared the 21-foot (6.4-meter) male crocodile along a creek in his township after a three-week hunt. It was one of the largest crocodiles to be captured alive in the Philippines in recent years. (AP Photo)

Wowsa. That is no joke. I think bigger is better (this is why texassss and I get along), but this is pretty damn scary. The optimal size is about at 12 inches, but at 21 feet it is getting out of control.

This croc had been eating farmers and water buffalo all summer. But apparently, George (what I'm calling this 21 footer) is going to become part of the local community. Yeah they are building an ecotourism park around this beast, as he has become an international sensation. Just remember to keep your distance, look out they bite!

On a side note, I think my wing span could cover most of the croc. That little Philippian guy could barely get around it, whereas me (being the giant I am) would probably get a good grip.

how about a little austin

Early in January, I mentioned a new artist called Sahara Smith who apparently is a badass singer song writer from Austin. Well we were pumped to see her here in the big Cville, but for whatever reason we didn't make it out to the concert. Turns out she was back in town last week, and fortunately we were able to check her out:

Remember, the chick was mentored by T-Bone Burnett, which I again emphasize is pretty badass. That guy could probably cut me. And she was promoted via Prairie Home Companion song writing competition....who doesn't love alittle MN humor.

It is interesting to see young artists on small stages. She definitely has certain stage mannerisms, which may or may not stay as she grows as an artist. Anyways, we enjoyed it and it was good to pick up a signed CD.

music of the moment

Well here are three things that make you an interesting artist to me:
  1. Born and raised in the Austin, Texassss music scene
  2. Discovered as a songwriter by Prairie Home Companion (Go Minney)
  3. Mentored by T-Bone Burnett
Enter, Sahara Smith (PS, you're named after my favorite movie!). I heard an NPR report on her a couple months ago which put her closer on my radar. Diggin her--definitely a hybird of country and bluegrass with a little Ryan Bingham feel. She also made the list of albums missed in 2010.

She is coming to Cvile this month and I'm hoping to hear this catchy song:
