new corperate slogans

What technology are you addicted to? And really what do you us it for??? Think about it and consider this:

I can think of a few more. Facebook: "We've got you, and we are never going to let you go." Netflix: "What do you mean you don't want to watch Code Mission? It's a straight-to-video release that's just like The Matrix!"

make your own tweets

I found another new website, but this one allows you to make your own celebrity tweets that you always wanted to see. Have you been begging for a Twitter shout-out from your favorite famous person, but they're too busy making terrible music, movies, or television to heed your pathetic cries for attention? Well now you can! Make fake (but dangerously convincing) tweet from LET ME TWEET THAT FOR YOU, a tweet template and bad-idea-waiting-to-happen that puts every celebrity Twitter account at your michievous fingertips. Here are some of my favorites:

This is bringing me back to PPTK at Christmas....oh D!

See Rush just needs a HUG :)

72 days and it's over

Wowsa, did you hear??? The Special K news??? Kimmy K has filed for divorce from her tall MN-soten husband. They made it a whole 72 days. Considering they were PAID $17.9 million for their wedding that means it was worth a nifty $10,358.80 per hour. 10Gs per hour. HOLY BALLS!!

Check this out for a detailed break down of the numbers. It was funny how #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage was trending on twitter for days producing such epic tweets as:
  • #Blackberry service outage #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage (which I thought McBetty would enjoy).
  • #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage her last name.
  • #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage Taylor Swift's speech because Kanye grabbed her mic
Well you know now that we all look back at it, there was some signs we were missing that would have suggested this abrupt end. For God’s sake, this GIF taken from Keeping Up With The Kardashians should have given it away months ago…

What kind of jhole throws a woman into the ocean? I'm sure she is fine. I heard she’s completely buoyant carrying around all that well-known junk in the trunk, but still.

I still contend that these are s-m-r-t business people and she played her heart and wallet pretty well this time. Point Kim, advantage Special K family.

Update status: I found Mrs. Bling

I love love love Mr. and Mrs. Bling Bling. These are my good friends who holla from B-more, who we all pray will soon soon soon catch a damn break. A good "break" folks, not a hip break or a break up, but something more like spring break! Finger crossed 4x.

Anyways, for years now I make fun of Mr. and Mrs. Bling Bling because all our weekend conversations go a little something like this:
  • LL: "Watcha do this weekend?"
  • A: "Ran some errands"
  • LL: "I need more information"
  • M: "We ran lots of errands like blah blah blah blah"
I've never met more people who appear to run errands all damn weekend, 8 hours a day for 2 days straight. For reals. They have to go here and there, with green eggs and ham, on a boat and when in a jam.

Well today I ran across this picture of the day and couldn't help but think about how this is probably Mrs. Bling Bling multi-tasking during her plethora of weekend errand running:

She is tracking her grocery list online through some milk cartoon program that makes people more sane, whilst talking to Mr. Bling Bling on the phone (who subsequently is ordering the purchase of more pizza rolls), whilst trying to figure out whether to buy organic or fat free yogurt, peach or blueberry. If only she had a smart phone so that she could also update her status on facebook and tweet me that we need more COWBELL in a dairy section.

Also, I think this lady is at Target, hence the fire engine red cart, which is a frequented errand-running-arena for my favorite friends.

LOVE YOU!!!!

telling you your lupie business

Well this was my 4th year to suit up and attend the Lupus Foundation of America's Advocacy Days on the hill in DC. Last week we had meetings with all my representatives from the big commonwealth of VA. I didn't get to meet another Senator and I severely missed little Tommy P, but I found my voice....

As many of you know, I have a big damn mouth but when at LFA events I tend to be the tall quiet one in the back. My story is not nearly as traumatic or sad or meaningful as all my friends. I was diagnosed early, I can work a 40 hour job, I have health care, and therefore I keep my mouth shut. I don't know if I can accurately articulate this to those who don't experience it daily--the degree of disaster that this disease takes on the lives of the people affected, and how much I am abnormal. I was just emailing with one of my more sane support group friends who was THRILLED to get her drug list down to 8 prescription a day, and seriously she is what I would call high-functioning.

This year on the hill (for the first time ever) I felt strong enough to talk more, to share, and to give a 20-minute "tell-you-your-business" speech. And luckily, it went well. I'll be the first to admit that it might just be that my expectations have changed, in that it didn't bother me when those crazy women go off on their stories or when the foundation can't get their business together. I articulated our purpose and I didn't get as upset when the staffers replied "we are in a budget short fall" or "we don't support that."

Last week, I got a little crazy tweeting up a storm with the LFA stuff. Also, if you want to write any of your representatives, using an LFA form letter, you can do so here. Tell them someone special to you was on the hill (for big block of cheese day) last week, and you too support the cause even though you couldn't be there.

why is everyone so angry?

I swear, most men in pop culture right now are sooo angry. If it isn't Mel Gibson and his heavy breathing, it is Christian Bale yelling at random people (ps, now I try to reply to people with "oooh good for you" as much as possible). You all need to take a deep breath and go take it down a notch (perhaps by your own "drug" of choice, of course).

Well the new addition to this pool of men is Charlie Sheen. He has been bordering on a good crazy for years now, but has really taken it further this week. Charlie did an interview where he talked alot of crazy and then joined Twitter to vent his spleen (ha! that is close to sheen). This, of course, is the gift that just keeps giving. Now we all can follow this semi-normal rants. For about a week now, his sayings have been trending including my personal favorite, #tigerblood. Yes, I too have tigerblood pulsing throughout my body.

Of course the internets have put together some pretty amazing records of the rants of these angry men. I'M WINNING!!!! Check it out:

photo feeds

I've become a fan of these odd Tumbr photo feeds. I have run across a couple of these feeds, for example jumping twi-hotttties added all kinds of other photos. Recently, there has been one with Tom Hanks as animals (well duh because "he is the greatest actor ever") and he tweeted how honored he was. I guess I particularly enjoy when the subject's of photo feeds find them, and make comments. People actually do spend their time with editing photos??? Totally funny. Makes me giggle. There are always some good ones.

I need connections to more feeds, where from my understanding anyone can post a picture and if tagged properly will also appear on the site feed. Loves it. Suggestions?

getting my Elvis on

Well if you are checking my Twitter feed, you'd know I had a last minute trip to Memphis this week that was immediate shot to shit by the horrid south snow storms. It took me 24 hours to go from Cville to the home of Blues music. I spent most of Th/F working and ended up having to stay in town on Saturday for some follow-up meetings. This sort of sucked because my initial plan was to make the 3 hour trip to Nashville for the weekend to visit a friend. No playing for LL. Sad.

So yesterday after meetings, I decided to go tour Elvis's home, Graceland, since I couldn't make it across the state. I had a GREAT time at Graceland and decided that Elvis and I would have been good friends (BFFs?).....all the sparkles, the eccentric tastes, the love of music (and booze equally). McBetty agreed with me via text about the love of booze, but we agreed that the King and I differed on the pill addiction--I said I plan to try that in my 30's (which Poppa B did not think was funny at all)!

Here are some pictures from the afternoon of Elvis:

The front of Graceland. The back extended into horse stables, indoor racketball courts, offices, a pool, and a meditation garden.

Elvis is burned in his original meditation garden, which apparently was one of his favorite places on the property. It was recently his birthday so there was fanfare everywhere.

The King had all kinds of different rooms throughout his house. They said when he would travel he would bring back pieces of things that inspired him....like the Hawaii themed room full of craved wood furniture. I liked all the stained glass throughout. And I particularly enjoyed this full fabric-ed game room. WICKED!!!! I am going to fabric my ceiling someday.

I liked looking at Elvis's fashion and I appreciated all this charitable work. He felt very blessed for his success and gave alot of it away. I liked this, very very much. And I didn't realize the way he crossed over in all his music--winning award for Christian, Blue, Country genres. A-mazing.

After Graceland, I made my second visit to the most famous BBQ in Memphis. I sat at the bar, and enjoyed my time eatin, drinkin, and socializin with the bartender.

Well I fly out tonight but am headed to Jackson (half way between Memphis and Nashville) to meet my friend for lunch and some shopping. Here's to a little Memphis/TN visit....
