So I'm still waiting to see what the new Eminem record will bring us.....the first couple singles off his new album, Relapse, have been OK. Some are just like his other records, and others have caught my eye. Now I've always been an Em fan, but I'm always partial to those MI artists.
The new album is proving to be a little more artistic than some of his previous work, though still pretty dark:
Other Em news is he just checked himself back in Rehab.....which he posted via Twitter.

branding your name with booze
So many celebrities these days start as one threat and build up their arsenal with movies, music, clothing, perfume, etc. It is not enough anymore just to be a singer, but instead you have to be an actor, a philanthropist and a businessman.
I am particularly interested in these folks who are making booze and selling it in their own name....Kidrock recently announced a new line of beer in hopes of boosting MI's economy (not sure it worked kid), and now I'm reading about JT's line o' Tequila!!!
901 is Justin Timberlake's new line and it is actually getting good reviews by the boozers across the country. I should try it!
And now I'm starting to think about what I can add to my arsenal....I'm leaning towards something booze related!

BO getting bumped for AI
Soooo the Fox network, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided not to air BO's primetime press conference tomorrow night in fears that will run over and cut into the American Idol results show. OH FOR CHRIST SAKE, damn AI has been going for weeks and weeks and each one of those shows are exactly like the same. That no talent ass crown Seacreast takes forever to say "thisssss.....is... AI" and all the fake drama ensues with Paula making crazy comments. I'm so over it all.
But I guess Fox cannot air this business and all 40 of the other networks with have it. Good, screw Fox. When is AI going to be cancelled? I need more smrt TV please.

new FL license plates
NOW this is a good idea that the state of FL has developed....a new religious license plate....just think about what type of swear words or obscene things could we do with this one:
Here are some ideas:
Also what happen to the separation of church and state??? I'm just asking.

1st 100 days have flewn by
BO's first 100 days have flown by and I enjoyed checking out some of the pictures from our first black prez....I'll admit that of course they are going to paint him in a good light, but it pretty nice to see a smiling president doing community service and such. At least he knows how to speak and pronounce nuclear!
donkeys are taking the majority
Sooooo news has broke that longtime GOP senator from PA is switching to be a donkey (he is so over those elephants). THIS IS AMAZING??? LL, why is that, you ask....because this means that the donkeys have now become the majority in Senate and are fillibuster proof. Well they will be buster proof if Al Franken stays the senator in MN....yeah that shit is still going on!
How pissed off do you have to be at your party to switch while in session knowing that this has HUGE consequences for the elephants???
Is it too soon to say that the dems might be taking over DC? Man, GWB really f-ed his party.

great weekend
Well I had a great weekend back here in Cville....it's been over a month since I've been stable and in town. I got lots of errands done, phone calls returned, and did alot of relaxing. Friday night a bunch of friends met up for a great happy hour, some live music, some more beer, and some really fabulous mexician food. Best part was lots of laughter.
When I got back home on Friday there was parties everywhere around my place! See it is foxfield weekend here in Cville, which means there are east coast jholes wearing their asshats all over the place. I almost ran over 3 guys with pink polo shirts and popped collars. There were crazy girls in sun dresses and penny loafers with socks all over the place. It is like NASCAR for rich kids.
Saturday I started making my weekend soups that early morning....yummmm spicy chili. I hit up my yoga class, which I almost missed because of the damn traffic. I attempted to avoid the Foxfield traffic only to realize that half of downtown was closed for the Dogwood festival parade. I saw crazy red hat lady groups and lots of floats. Needless to say I made it to yoga, which was great, and then sat up on the rooftop patio afterwards for some Jame's reading.
Got some errands run, including buying 10 bottles of wine and all the materials for my new veggie/herb garden! Took a friend to the airport and then came home to plant. I'm not the proud owner of a big tomato plant, 2 cucumbers, 1 basil and 1 cilantro. I also replanted another clover plant. I had to baby them all weekend and I'm giving fair warning to all the animals around my place that if anyone starting eating my business, I WILL RUN THEM OVER!!! (PS, george is back for the summer!)
Got some good hang out and last homework of the semester time with T and D on saturday night. Watched some of the draft which was exciting. Looking forward to getting back into football season this year. Sunday I saw my George, who interviewed the Iranian devil who kept talking about the holocaust.
Other news of the weekend included a good chattie chat with the seattle family who will be hosting everyone in a month. I also ordered a new license plate for my car which is personalized....more on this when I get the damn thing. Mohahahahha. Saw a good softball game last night too!
HAVE A GOOD WEEK!!! Last week of the semester and pre-beer fest weekend! Yessss.

DMB in Cville...a week later
So DMB was in town last weekend bring the hottness to the big Cville. As I mentioned, we ran into DMB himself as my favorite tapa bar, Mas. And he jammed out on both Friday and Saturday nights to sold out shows, which I was not at but many of my friends were. I read a review this week that said he was amazing. Tim was there and so was LeRoi's baritone sax on it's stand. I think the band is still greiving the loss of LeRoi, who I saw in his last concert last summer at Nisson in DC. Anyways, it was also rumored around town and in this review that DMB was looking great! I saw that when we saw him at Mas....was in fine condition and not too bad to look at. Check out the new album coming out!

a successful LFA Walk
GO Iowa!!
Listen your state may be the most boring place to drive across, and your wrestling teams might be too good, BUT I'm loving you because of this:
some noteable posts from FML
Having a bad day? Read about other people who also suck at life....here are some of today's favorites:
- Today, I finally exchanged pictures with the woman I've been seeing online for some time now. She replied, saying "That's not funny. Some people actually look like that. I sent my real picture, and thought I actually looked pretty good in it.
- Today, I got a email from my boss. He said he was going to have to let me go for missing so much work over the last week. I was laid off two months ago. I don't know what is more depressing, getting fired from a job twice or the fact it took two months for them to notice I wasn't there anymore.

the cornhole
The cornhole is an actual thing is not necassarily something that I call people I don't like....another one of my favorite blogs is This is Why You're Fat!
The cornhole = Corn on the cob wrapped in hickory bacon with two hot dogs and two Colby-Jack cheese sticks wrapped in ground beef. GROSSSS!!!!
I may have just thrown up in my mouth just a little, or we should totally make this at happy hour BBQ on friday night (the cornhole and this):

What are the top things a man should know how to do??????? hmmmmm....how many of these things can I do?
- Change a tire
- Sew a button
- Shuffle a deck of cards
- Cook bacon
- Iron a shirt (I hating ironing)
- Point to north at any time (I'll still tell you your business)
- Build a "successful" campfire (I mean I can start a fire but I'm not saying it is "successful")
- Install a disposal or an electronic thermostat (hell bells that is why I have men in my life)
- Know some birds (really? seriously?)

the loins are making some changes
I was soooo proud, once again, to be from MI last year when my Detroit Loins went 0-16!!! It was amazing and remember "yes we can!"
Well anyways I just found out that the Loins are making some changes, and one of the most significant is to their logo. Yep, they are a little whiter, flow-y-ing mane-ish, and fang-y-er now! I think this change in the logo is going to bring about major changes in the next season. I bet we might win a game or two.....or here is my prediction:

speaking of great license plates
Of course we've seen the Tofu one, but here is two other GREAT one from my home state and supporting UVA (and some other pretty funny ones):
stress positions = yoga positions
You may be living in a hole if you did not hear that BO's team has released some of the Bush Torture memos this last week, in an continued effort to show accountability in their era of transparency. While watching the footage of these acts, or a least the stimulations, I couldn't help but notice that some of these are like yoga moves! I know we only hold a yoga move for 6-12 breaths (as opposed to being tortured for hours, days and months), but I saw a couple stress positions that I know the yogies have a name for!
I mean that is what working out is, right? Torture. Good thing I'm bendie like a pretzel.

Miss USA creating scandels
Well this weekend the Miss USA contest was aired and this year, once again, it was more than just a blonde parade of Donald Trump's future wives (ohhhh wait, it was still that too). Remember two years ago when Miss. South Carolina (sorry M) gave the worse response to a simple question....here is her rambling and incoherent answer:
This year, we were graced with a much better worded answer from Miss California, but unfortunately her answer represented the 50/50 split on same-sex marriage in that state. You have to be living in a hole if you don't know about Prop. 8 from November. Anyways, now the backlash has started:
AHhhhhh she got boooed!!!! Here is a lesson you should learn....don't piss off the gays!!! And get a PR rep who can teach you how to answer a question in an appropriate way. This hooker still took runner up!
Check out the news cover and graphics we are getting (slow news day apparently):

I sort of want to punch him in the throat and than balls.

John is outie
John Madden announced his retirement today. At least 30 years in the field and that sure is something to hang your hat on.
Now what the hell are boys/men with too much time on their hands going to spend their money on??? Ahhh who am I kidding, they still produce his video games.

another DMB sighting
Yep that is right....I just had another local Dave Matthew's sightings. Tonight, Gail, Anne and I went to Mas (one of my favorite tapas bars) and of course who the hells walks in!!!!! Yep DMB himself. I freaked out and noticed him before A or G, and he sat with friends and family and had dinner. We didn't bother him this time for a picture or autograph, but I sure as hell would have!!! He of course is in town for his two local show tomorrow and saturday night right on campus. We decided not to go but man I sure did want to. He was looking damn fine!

stupid granholm
The stupid dumbass Gov. of MI, who is either trying to cancel all agriculture programs or flying to DC to plead for the auto industry, is now urging Michiganders to vote for American Idol. One of the finalists this year is from K-zoo, and apparently the only thing happening in MI that is worth getting excited about!!!!
Ahhh forgot that your house is foreclosing and your unemployment rate is above 15% and your citizens are having sex with vaccum hoses.....but DON'T FORGET TO TEXT YOUR VOTES!!! This dude is pretty good and used to work at a piano bar....and you know I love my piano bars!
I didn't watch this week and I've never voted in all the 7 season, soooo suck it Granholm.

HP going earlier
So it was just announced that in July they are going to release the new Harry Potter movie two days earlier, so that the madness will start on Wednesday!!! This hollywood BS about beating weekend blockbusters is just reducklous. Hells bells people, are going to go see this movie and I don't think it should matter how much money it pulls down during the first weekend. Adults and children alike will be watching this for months.
I think it sucks that so much it put on that first weekend, some really really good movies don't do well at first but will catch on. Case and point, Little Miss Sunshine and Slumdog Millioniare. Give them a damn chance! The same can be said for TV shows, case and point Studio 60. What happened to faith and smart entertainment. Down the freaking toilet.

pirates, BO, and easter
Soooo pirates have been in the news alot lately....luckily for me....and of course the blog'o sphere is getting creative about tracking these things:
WTG BO....arrrrggggg
And apparently BO is a good children's book reader as well as pirate killer (see 1:35 point).

objectum-sexuality*
So I recently heard about Objectum-Sexuality, which is basically feeling intimate with objects. That is you love say the Brooklyn Bridge or your car. OS, as it is often referred to, people describe themselves as:
"We love objects and many of us in an intimate way and this feeling is innate. Objectùm-sexual love comes for most in a similar awakening as other sexualities at the start of puberty. This is often followed by an acute awareness that we do not relate to peers due to the source of the projected feelings. Often objectùm-sexual people feel outcast or pressured by mainstream sexuality with a helpless feeling that we cannot change what comes so naturally."
OS people say they are at the end of the bell curve, yep I'd have to say that is right. This business is interesting.....never knew about this, and now my fancy to the plastic pinto is explained :)
*D this could be good for your class, if it is not already :) This and pirate porn!

two more reasons not to watch the Today show
I stopped watching the Today show months ago when I generally stopped watching TV all around....and today I found two moreexcellent reasons why I stopped:
- A conversation about how Bob Barker almost got into the porn industry which fiercely rivals those Subway commerials about footlong. Apparently the big BOB is bring some heat.
- A conversation about how Al Rocker used to have such big man boobs that his daughter once "latched on" to one of them. Grrrossss.
summer movies to watch
I'm not sure why I'm getting excited for this summer's blockbuster movies, but it is almost mid-april! Here is what I'm super excited about coming out this summer:
May:
May:
- X-men Wolverine (hugh is one sexy bitch)
- Star Trek (because it is J.J.)
- Angels and Demons (because it pisses off the catholic church and I generally support that)
- Transformers ("I've been working out installing his disco ball)
- Public Enemies (gotta love johnny depp)
- HARRY POTTER (nuff said)
- G.I. Joe (yeah not really that excited about this one)
matthew mcconaughey cannot stand straight
I grow tired of Matthew McConaughey's chick flick movies....especially because all of the movie posters have him standing sideways with some woman. Apparently Matthew has a problem with gravity in his movies and need to constantly be propped up by his female co-stars!
Exhibit 1: his new movie coming out next month
Exhibit 2: Failure to Launch
Exhibit 3: How to lose a guy...
What happened to the good movies to Matthew??? Anyone remember A Time To Kill? Or dare I say Sahara (although this was his turning point into stereotypical movies). Come back to us Matt, if you can.

Leave your guesses in the comments, but here are some of mine:
- "Those glasses make you look smart, do you know how to fix this economy?"

- OR he is just trying to bite his ear mistaking this bunny for one of those chocolate bunnies.

banned license plate
So some tree hugging mother ordered a vanity license plate from the State of CO, and she wanted it to say "I LOVE TOFU" but of course that is too long.....she shortened it and got 'er made. Later the state revoked it because some people said it was dirty.....my dirty mind took a minute on this one:
Get it???? If not, take out TO and put 2 :)
Anne's undergraduate university is FU and they put that on their tshirts.
always looking up
Michael J. Fox has penned another book and I was one of the first to order that business on Amazon. It is called "Always looking up: The Adventures of an Incurable Optimist." And I find this title slightly funny because you know he is a small small man (speaking of oompa loompas today). BUT I'm really looking forward to reading it because I think it will really speak to my current state of affairs. Plus read some of these reviews.
MJF has Parkinson's and had made some decisions in his life to look at the brighter side of things and see his situation as full of opportunities. I suppose I need to do this better and I won't hurt reading about it from someone who has lived through it.

another potential gift from me
So in all their grass growing wisdom, the Chia company has jumped on the BO bandwagon and started producing Chia Obama's. Well people across the country are kind of pissed about this, saying "it is racist and company brass decided the new collectible was wrong for their image." Walgreens has pulled it from their shelves but the Chia company is still going to continue making them. I've decided to run out to my local Walgreens (although I have no idea where one is) to pick myself up a growing haired BO before my town pulls them from the shelves.....
Does this freak you out a little??? It is like Presidential Oompa Loompa with the green hair...and I mean make him short with white overalls and singing some moral songs about sweets, and we are there.
See what I'm saying:

So I read about a Dad who is tired of sitting around while his daughter struggles with Lupus, so he decided ride his bike for almost 400 miles straight to raise funds and awareness. Kanamara Matsuri
Kanamara Matsuri is a festival in Japan which is held every year, which is English means "Festival of the Steel Phallus." Yes let your imagination go because this is actually for dirty minds.
The Kanamara Matsuri is centered around a local penis-venerating shrine once popular among prostitutes who wished to pray for protection against sexually transmitted diseases. In current times this is just a big penis festival of fun, here are some pictures of the parade, rides, and food:

what about school violence attracts mothers
I don't get it....at APS and now at SRCD my research and posters on school violence always attract mothers....we have these conversation about violence within schools. I want some researchers and I want to debate and tell them their business. Well I sort of did that with one lady today, but boy I'm still presenting to the wrong audiences.....Although I got some good feedback and I definitely knew what I was talking about more!

meeting the queen
Mr. and Mrs. BO met the Queen today....I hope they remembered when to kiss to hand and when to stop eating, etc. She looks so tiny next to those amazing Americans. I want to meet the Queen (or more like her sexy grandsons):
Boy Mrs. BO is sporting a major poof? Who knew she was in with those hairstyles.

puts some clothes on you crazy MN-sotians
Some naked dude was walking around the Rec Center at the Univ. of MN!!! Apparently this is indecent exposure if not in a locker room....but I'm not complaining if there was something good to look at.
I like stories of indecent exposure, especially in this shitty times or economic stress. Just makes me giggle.

ohhh norman too bad for you
So apparently the MN senate race has still been full of drama, although I have not necasarily been following it. I believe Al Franken is in DC and working and good ol' Norm is still fighting. Glad I'm not paying taxes in MN paying for this business....but it appears that Norman is soon going to be done (but haven't we been saying that since November?).
I like how Norm's lawyer said: "It's still a mathematical possibility but it's probably akin to you winning your NCAA bracket pool at this point."
I guess that means that Norm didn't do too well in his basketball pool either. Better luck next year (or in 6 years for that senate seat)!

Well nothing fooly has happened to me yet...here's hoping the air traffic controllers aren't watching basketball or playing practical jokes....but of course google had another funny this year, like last year. They introduced CADIE which will revolutionize my life! MOhahahahah april fools. What happened to you this year???
I didn't see anyone all morning so I coudln't pull anything....not like I have any brain power to do so anyways

more people leaving Pullman
I hate to state this but more people are leaving my little small graduate school town....Pullman, WA. Thus is the nature of college towns, but especially those in the middle of no where (no offensive to my good friends still living there).
Word has reached the public that Tony Bennet, son of Dick Bennet, is leaving WSU as head men's basketball coach to transition to.....UVA!!!! Mohahahaha. I like it. We are stealing the good coaches. I'm OK with stealing Tony as long as it isn't Tubby!
I have alot of respect for Tony because he ran an excellent program at WSU and his student/athletes were top notch. They were in the classes I taught and were generally good guys. He has the potential to lead a program into a legacy. Here's hoping....
We will see how he does the next couple years!

tutu coming to MSU
Congrats to MSU for scoring a wicked awesome convocation speaker....Desmond Tutu!!! I saw him speak at a conference years ago and he was amazing. I remember when people clapped for him, he yelled at us all. He said that you shouldn't clap like your hands are in cuffs or chains, but to show excitement and enthusism when you mean it. I take this to heart every day :)
Anyways, I would be very happy to hear him speak and I think this is another great opportunity for MSU and the state of MI. This and the Final Four (GO MSU!!!!)

peta is making the rounds
Soooo PETA has been making some more noise recently, yeah yeah I know when are they not making noise. I read about a protest in Kentucky at KFC, and here just in little Cville was a protect at McDonalds! These Cvillian's were all pissed off at the "McCruelty" happening at the cheap fast food chain. Now you may think this is a play on the slang made popular from Grey's Anatomy, but it is actually a play on McDonald's....OK perhaps I was the only one thinking that is might have been GA!
Maybe I should be researching how to make chicken in test tubes so that there is not more animal cruelty due to the McD's nuggets.

worse prom dress ever
Dear Parents,
Don't like your teenage daughter wear this to prom....if her prom date isn't already thinking it, he will be if she is wearing this:
You're welcome,
LL

I need to motorize a bar stool
A Ohio man was charged with a DUI while driving his motorized bar stool home one night....hells bells this guy should be rewarded for being so clever! I need a motorized bar stool, for example when I'm old and my tits are in my shoes, I want this instead of a motorized wheel chair. You can just strap me in and hope for the best. I'll be the hit at the nursing home...but we would have to install a cup holder and maybe a basket for my knitting needles!
Apparently people in OH are a little smarter than the dumbasses we have in MI.

where has the week gone?
Seriously where has the week gone? It is already Wednesday and I'm preparing to leave for Denver....yep there are delays in Philly and Denver is suppose to get snow tonight! This makes me super excited overall (insert sass). I'm mostly packed and cleaned up, and just tying up some loose ends in the office. We will be off and praying for no major delays. Luckily I don't present until 2:10 tomorrow afternoon :)
Wish me luck!
